Online Subscriber Revenue Recognition System

Business Objective
A leader in online community-based networking, wanted to offer more products to its members, each with its own agreement terms and duration. This presented a challenge for the finance group who had to manually calculate revenue recognition each month for each product sold. This manual process restricted product offerings and limited the company’s growth potential. The company was looking for a Revenue Recognition System that supported wider membership options.
Solution
eSage Group worked in collaboration with the finance group to design and develop a flexible but rigorous Revenue Recognition system that tracks revenue in real time and allowed for very flexible agreement term. The new recognition system was developed using J2EE based technologies and Oracle Financials. The system was designed and delivered in six months, meeting both cost and schedule targets.
Results
The Finance Group now has an automated way to view, drill down on, and summarize cash and revenue transactions, saving hours of manual labor and significantly increasing data accuracy. Having this system on the back-end allows Member and Sales team to develop, test, and implement a virtually unlimited number of price points, terms, and feature subscription bundles.
